support biglake
We have experienced tremendous support for the music we bring to the County. Since 2018, BIGLAKE has steadily grown attendance and customer satisfaction.
We could not have come this far without the incredible financial support we have received from individuals, corporations and multiple levels of government. Please look at our concert program donor/sponsor page, where we recognise these gifts.
Ticket sales account for only 16% of our operating revenue. The remaining 84% is generated through donations, with 68% from private donors and 16% from grants & public support.
Our 2024 budget continues to increase this year, a sign that you are keen to make BIGLAKE a permanent part of this community. Our fundraising goal is to raise $80,000 by January 1st, 2025.
We continue to rely on donations to provide and maintain the quality of concerts BIGLAKE brings year after year. Please consider joining our growing list of supporters.
Sponsor an Artist, Composer or a Concert
Supporting an artist’s appearance, a composer’s work, or an entire concert is a wonderful way to make a lasting impact on the world of music. By making a “named gift donation,” you will not only generally contribute to BIGLAKE’s ability to produce magical musical experiences, but you will also be directly supporting Canadian and international talent and bringing artistic excellence to Prince Edward County. Your generosity will be celebrated and recognised in various ways, including named recognition in print and digital materials, introductory stage remarks to publicly acknowledge your gift, meet-and-greet opportunities with artists or composers, private receptions, and more. If you’re passionate about music and want to create a meaningful legacy, consider supporting an artist or concert at the BIGLAKE!!
Artist and Composer Sponsorships start at $2,500
Concert Sponsorships start at $5,000

Honour a Loved One
Consider donating to the BIGLAKE in someone’s memory. Tribute gifts are a thoughtful way to honour a loved one or celebrate someone’s love for music. When donating to BIGLAKE in someone’s honour, please add a note to your donation. You will receive a tax receipt for your gift, and your donation will appear on the donor list with your personal tribute. Upon request, we can inform the person about your gift. Music has the power to touch hearts and enrich lives.
Sponsor a reception
Love to host a good party? Musicians normally eat light meals before a performance, and are typically very hungry after burning a lot of calories during a performance. Sponsoring a post-concert reception, either at your home or at a local restaurant, is a fun and very social way to support musicians directly.
Please contact elissa@biglakearts.com if you are interested.
Venue and Event Sponsor
Do you own a great venue or home that could host a public concert or a private event? We love to partner up with passionate people who are interested in opening their spaces for a concert, BIGLAKE customizes the perfect musical selection to suit each space. BIGLAKE is also always interested in connecting with new friends and fans of the arts, please contact us if you can help us spread the word and generate general interest by hosting a private event.

BIGLAKE is a registered charity whose goal is to build a playground for interdisciplinary performance and collaboration. In 2018 and 2019, we were called Wellington Water Week, and we founded BIGLAKE in 2020. Since then, BIGLAKE Festival has been bringing quality classical music to the County by featuring world-class musicians. The festival was founded by Elissa Lee and Johannes Debus, a couple of classical musicians from Toronto who offer thoughtful and creative curation. BIGLAKE Festival invites concert musicians worldwide to enrich and delight audiences and calls Wellington Music Hall home, a quaint lakeside village in Prince Edward County.
Prince Edward County is a creative nexus in the heart of Canada’s largest economic and cultural corridor, the Toronto-Ottawa-Montréal region. The County has a vibrant artistic community, and many artists come to the region each year for its natural beauty. The County is also known for its flourishing wineries, robust food, and cultural scene, attracting over a million tourists each summer. BIGLAKE’s audience primarily comes from Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa.
BIGLAKE is committed to serving the entire community and pops up in various intimate locations in partnership with local business owners, providing a unique musical experience for audiences and artists alike.
A dynamic cultural institution co-founded and co-directed by Johannes Debus, critically acclaimed and esteemed Music Director for the Canadian Opera Company and Juno Award-winning and internationally renowned violinist Elissa Lee. Through diverse programming and year-round initiatives – BIGLAKE fuses tradition and innovation by weaving a variety of musical genres, cultural influences and modern elements to curate unique, diverse and intimate musical experiences in Wellington, Prince Edward County, Canada.
BIGLAKE’s mission is to bring exceptional music experiences to audiences in Prince Edward County, create a playground for artists that allows them the freedom to explore, collaborate, and perform in unexpected ways, and offer audiences a musical experience that inspires imagination and inclusion.
