BIGLAKE presents HIDDEN GEMS with 14 exciting concerts and events during its annual week-long festival in August in Prince Edward County. Join us and explore a variety of hidden gems nestled among more famous works, combining fresh interpretations of beloved classics together with striking contemporary works and lesser-known treasures.
We are pleased to have once again an international line-up of prolific artists, including Romanian-born violinist Mihaela Martin, one of her generation’s most outstanding violin virtuosos. Joining us for the first time is Fretless, a dazzling string quartet that melds classical and folk music to new levels. We also welcome back cellist Bryan Cheng, pianist Christina Quilico-Petrowska and Ensemble Made In Canada.
This year also marks the 5 year anniversary of BIGLAKE Festival. We have a special Gala concert to celebrate this milestone!
SPECIAL SCREENING FUNDRAISING EVENT
Support BIGLAKE at our annual Fundraiser with a special screening of Buster Keaton’s classic silent comedy, The General. Not only will this film be screened in its original 35mm format, but it will be accompanied by the remarkable award-winning Ilya Poletaev who will masterfully improvise a soundtrack on piano.
